General Candle Burning Instructions
General candle burning instructions:
Prior to lighting, please remove all packaging.
Keep burning candles within sight at all times; never leave a burning candle unattended.
Keep burning candles away from flammable materials and out of reach of children and pets.
Keep wick trimmed to 1/8” at all times.
If smoking occurs, extinguish flame, re-trim the wick to 1/8”, remove trimmings and relight.
Only burns candles in or on suitable holders and place them on heat and fire resistant surfaces.
Do not place on or near other heat sources, and never directly on furniture.
Keep wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches or any combustible material. Keep the wick centered.
Place your candle in an area free from drafts to discourage dripping and smoking.
Extinguish candles with care, as wax may splatter. A candle quencher or snuffer is recommended.
Jar Candles:
Glass containers are fragile; handle with care. Avoid glass-to-glass contact when handling the lid, and don’t use jars that are cracked, chipped or scratched.
Discontinue use when 1/2”to 1” of wax remains, as glass may shatter. Do not refill jars with wax.
If smoking occurs, extinguish flame, re-trim the wick to 1/8”.
Do not allow the flame to touch the side of the jar, as it may become hot. Handle carefully.
Minimize the wax left on the sides until the wax pool reaches the edge of the jar (usually about one hour per inch of diameter). It’s normal for some wax to remain, and the amount varies per color, fragrance and burning environment.
Extinguish carefully before replacing the lid.
Pillars:
To prevent dripping, extinguish the flame when the wax pool reaches the edge and allow candle to cool and harden before relighting.
Discontinue use when ½” of wax remains.
Taper candles:
Be sure tapers are straight and set firmly in their holders. Trim wick to 1/8” before lighting.
To prevent possible dripping: avoid drafts, excessive vibrations or nearby heat sources.
Hurricane lanterns may cause dripping due to the build up of heat. We suggest using a decorative bobeche, designed to catch dripping wax.
Scented tealights:
Do not burn in an enclosed space like a potpourri pot or Tart® burner. For this purpose, use Tart® Warmers (unscented tea lights), and be sure the burner is well ventilated.
If wick smokes or builds up carbon, extinguish flame and remove the carbon before relighting.
Samplers® votive candles:
Votives are made to liquefy; burn them only in appropriate holders, never burn freestanding.
Tarts® wax Potpourri:
Place Tarts® Wax Potpourri in a suitable potpourri burner, and light an unscented tea light candle beneath (Tart® Warmers, which burn with a low, controlled flame, are recommended).
To change fragrances, extinguish the flame and use potholder to pick up the tart burner and pour the melted wax into a lined wastebasket. Or you can harden the wax in a freezer, and pop it out into the palm of your hand.
Please use only UL approved electric Tart® burners with Tart® Wax Potpourri.
Candle burn times:
22 oz. Jar Candle: 110-150 hours
14.5 oz Jar Candle: 65-90 hours
3.7 oz Jar Candle: 25-40 hours
2.8 x 3” Pillars: 35-45 hours
2.8 x 6” Pillars: 70-85 hours
Samplers®: up to 15 hours

Scentstories
Have you heard the new Yankee Candle buzz? This past year we purchased the rights from FeBreeze for their Scentstories line, a line they decided to discontinue. It is now one of our items that is growing in popularity. Since we have a great special on it right now, maybe it is time you give it a try!
Are you into the fruit fragrances? Our Berry'Liscous disc could be the one for you. It includes the following 5 Yankee Candle fragrances;Mandarin Cranberry/ Berry Jam/ Sweet Strawberry/ Black Raspberry/ Berry Tangerine.
Is floral more your style? Try our Floral Market. It includes Sweet Honeysuckle/ Midnight Jasmine/ WaterGarden/ Fresh Cut Roses/ and Lilac Blossoms.
Maybe you prefer your home smelling like baking? Then try our Very Vanilla disc, which includes the following fragrances; Vanilla Caramel/ Sparkling Vanilla/ Vanilla Breeze/ Vanilla Cupcake/ Vanilla Lime.
We have 7 different discs in all. You just place in the machine, close the lid, and turn the machine on and it will disperse the 5 fragrances on each disc at different intervals. Each disc last up to 50-55 hours.
If you haven't tried this item before, now is a great time to do so. For a limited time, buy a disc, and get the machine for $10.00. This is a $5.00 savings. You can find this machine and the discs on our website, www.yankeecandle.com, in our catalogs, and in our Yankee Candle Stores.
